Meet the men scaling up informal jobs in Kampala through tyre recycling

Tomas Bulwana, a resident of Naguru, just outside Uganda’s capital Kampala has found business in converting used motor-vehicle tyres into household furniture. 

In a country where 9 in every 10 young people who leave school are unemployed, Bulwana is creating jobs and clearing streets of one of the most environmentally hazardous waste.
