According to digital rights activists, one in three Ugandan women who use the internet have experienced gender-based harassment online.
The violence, they say, is not only pushing women off the digital space, but silencing their voices.
According to Dorothy Mukasa, the Executive Director at Unwanted Witness, it is important “to get women voices online” as a key gender equality goal on top of ensuring that issues that affect women in Uganda get very well represented online.
